Installing a stove or altering a chimney? Plan your project with us.

Installing a stove or altering a chimney? Contact us early to prepare for the compliance inspection. Depending on your installation, we examine safety clearances, protective systems, the air supply and the flue. The documents to gather are listed under “Preparing for our visit”.
Replacement of defective connecting flue pipes and stove and fireplace door seals, airtightness checks and glass cleaning products.
Find out more
We replace worn stove and fireplace door seals and check your stove for air leaks. A door seal in good condition limits unwanted air intake and helps control combustion in your stove or fireplace. Replacing a worn seal can therefore help reduce wood consumption and pollutant emissions. We also replace defective flue pipes connecting the appliance to the chimney, together with their sealing gaskets, and supply glass cleaning products. Tell us what you need when requesting an appointment, ideally with a photo and the appliance brand, so we can prepare the necessary materials.
05
Camera inspection
A look inside your flue to better understand its condition.
Find out more
During renovation, before bringing a flue back into use or when a fault is suspected, a camera inspection provides a view of accessible internal parts. It helps identify anomalies and determine any further checks or work. Contact us to find out whether this inspection suits your situation.

A few simple steps help us work in good conditions and take care of your heating system.
A cold appliance
Allow your wood stove, fireplace or wood-burning cooker to go out and cool down before we arrive. For a boiler, follow the instructions agreed when booking your appointment.
Clear access
Clear the area around the appliance, flues and sweeping doors. Move nearby fragile or bulky items out of the way.
Access to your property
Plan to be there or agree access arrangements with us if you will be away. Send any useful instructions before the appointment.
Parking and access details
Let us know about parking difficulties, access roads, entry codes or anything else that will help us prepare for the visit.
Useful documents
For an inspection of a new installation, have the heating appliance’s Declaration of Performance (DoP) ready, together with the approval documents for the chimney, technical shaft and any protective systems, as applicable to your installation.
Tell us what you have noticed
Let us know about unusual smoke, smells or operating problems you have noticed since our last visit.
Useful tips and official sources to help care for your heating system.
Using your wood heating correctly
Find Swiss Chimney Sweep Association guides on lighting fires, using wood heating and suitable fuels. The “No waste in your stove” leaflet explains good practice.
Sweeping frequency depends on factors including fuel and use. Find sweeping intervals, tariffs and obligations on the AVMR website. Emission testing intervals are shown in the table below.
Regular maintenance and a clean boiler room help your heating work properly. The Swiss Chimney Sweep Association also offers advice on heating controls, ventilation and energy savings. Ask your professional about settings suited to your system.
In the canton of Vaud, official combustion tests for compliant installations are normally repeated at the following intervals.
We work in partnership with the Canton of Vaud’s environmental authority, the Directorate General for the Environment (DGE), under our mandate to perform official combustion tests in our assigned service areas. Results are sent to the owner and the DGE, which handles administrative follow-up.
Emission testing: how often?
Installation
Usual frequency
Oil — standard boilers up to 1 MW
Every 2 years
Gas — thermal input up to 1 MW
Every 4 years
Wood or pellet boilers — thermal input up to 70 kW, using fuels permitted by the OPair
Every 4 years
For wood and pellets, this periodic measurement applies to central-heating boilers. Stoves and fireplaces that directly heat a room are subject to different inspection arrangements.
New, non-compliant or remediation-pending installations may require earlier testing. Refer to the deadline given for your installation.
These intervals apply to emission testing and do not replace chimney sweeping or heating maintenance.
Legal bases: Article 13 OPair; Articles 2, 4 and 5 RCOCC for authority and delegation; Article 10 for intervals; Article 11 for reports. Cantonal directive: sections 4.1 and 5.3.
For cleaning photovoltaic and solar thermal panels, we work with KPE Solaire Sàrl. Ramonagest and KPE Solaire are two separate companies with the same management and complementary services.
